Revenge Practical Jokes
You may start thinking about revenge practical jokes if you've been the butt of someone else's joke, but you should never try to "get even" with someone.
About Revenge Practical Jokes
The desire to get even can lead to rash actions, particularly if you've been the butt of a joke that you didn't enjoy. Revenge practical jokes should always be performed under the mantle of good spirits and with good fun in mind. You should never try to knowingly harm, embarrass or otherwise humiliate the "mark" or target you have chosen for your joke.
If you have been the victim of someone else's joke and felt threatened, harassed or humiliated, you should report it to someone who can help and take some time to cool off. If a negative or unpleasant joke happened at school or the office, you have the right to not feel threatened or intimidated, so do not hesitate to report the incident. Ultimately, you have to remember that not everyone shares the same sense of humor. While some are natural pranksters, others are not. It is a good rule of thumb to never "force" your humor on someone else.
Safe Revenge Jokes
If you are of the mind to play a practical joke on someone who joked you and your only intention is more good fun and laughter, then by all means, proceed. Some great revenge jokes can include the following:
- Replace all the cherry jawbreakers with red hots, but do not do this to someone who is allergic.
- Add Kool-Aid to the shower fixture, but do not do this to someone who may be allergic or who has an important meeting.
- Wash all of their white underwear with a red shirt, giving them bright pink underwear instead when they next open the drawer.
- Add Gummy Worms to their soup or sandwich when they aren't looking, be sure not to do this to someone who is allergic.
- Call and leave a message on someone's phone but instead of speaking clearly, belch it; but don't do it to someone who wouldn't appreciate it.
- Leave a voicemail message where you deliberately omit every other word and act like the message is important, but not "life threatening."
Revenge and Fun
Revenge and fun may not be two words you hear in conjunction with each other, but revenge performed in good fun is done so that both the person playing the joke and the one being joked can enjoy. For example, if you leave them crop circle messages in their lawn with fertilizer, it washes away neatly, but will actually come back later in the year with thicker, greener grass in those spots. If you're artistic, you can leave an artsy message on someone's driveway in sidewalk chalk. One great prank is to leave a message on a path they take every day, something only they would understand and write a word every few pavement sections. Another creative joke is to substitute the morning newspaper with one you've "cut" a message into so that when they flip it open, they see a funny line or joke.
Avoid Dangerous Jokes
Never send a joke in the mail, particularly one that lets out a shower of confetti or dust. Never mislead your intended mark with news that could be perceived as dangerous. Jokes, even revenge jokes, should always be done with humor and good intentions.
